Good features, but the pricing is tricky

Popups and Forms work well, and the API access is useful, but figuring out the best annual plan was more complicated than it needed to be.

Good for basics, but watch the pricing

Omnisend is pretty decent, especially compared to some of the clunkier platforms like Mailchimp I've tried. The Drag and Drop Editor is super intuitive and making emails looks good is a breeze. My main gripe is that while they start with a freemium model, the pricing structure can get a bit confusing and adds up fast once you go beyond the free tier, especially since they charge based on subscribers, not just emails sent. It's fine for smaller lists, but felt a bit steep once my subscriber count hit around 1,500.

Solid features, minor UI quirks

I tried Omnisend for their Customer Segmentation and Product Recommendations. The segmentation options are robust, allowing for pretty detailed targeting which is a big positive. The drag and drop editor is mostly good, though I found a few small UI elements a bit fiddly to adjust precisely. Customer support was helpful when I reached out about an integration query, but it did take a bit longer than I'd hoped to get a resolution. Overall, it's a powerful tool for e-commerce marketing, offering good value, but there's always room for small improvements in the user interface.

Consistent performance as always

This was my third time upgrading my Omnisend plan, this time to add SMS Marketing. I've been with them for over a year now, mainly using Email Marketing and Web Push Notifications. As with my previous experiences, the upgrade was seamless, and the new features integrated well with my existing setup. Their platform has always been reliable for my campaign scheduling and reporting. It's that consistency that keeps me coming back; I know what to expect and it always delivers.

Great value with free plan

I was looking for a cost-effective solution for email marketing and Omnisend's free plan really stood out. I've been using their Popups and Forms feature to grow my list and it's working well. The fact that I can send quite a few emails and even use some basic automation without paying is a huge plus. Definitely got good value for money, or rather, no money!

Good platform, some learning curve

I signed up for the free trial of Omnisend to test out their Email Marketing and Abandoned Cart Recovery features for my small online store. The onboarding process was fairly straightforward, and I found the Drag and Drop Editor for emails to be quite intuitive after a bit of practice. Setting up the abandoned cart workflow took a little longer than expected, mostly due to getting the segmentation just right. Their customer support was responsive when I had a question about integrating with my e-commerce platform; I got a helpful reply within a few hours. Deliverability seems good, and the initial campaign reports showed decent open rates. Overall, it's a solid tool, but be prepared to dedicate some time to truly leverage its automation capabilities.

Love this for my store!

Oh my goodness, Omnisend is amazing! I just set up my Welcome Email Series and Post-Purchase Automation, and it all looks so professional. The Email Templates are gorgeous, and the Discount Code Generator is a lifesaver. My customers are already responding to the new emails, I'm seeing such great engagement. I'm telling all my fellow shop owners about this – it's just so easy to use and makes my store look so much better! I'm definitely sticking with them!

Depends on your list size. Klaviyo is better for bigger lists.

Are there any current discount codes floating around for Omnisend? Or is it just the free trial and annual billing savings?

D Dan 2 months ago
I think they mainly do the annual discount, like 20% off if you pay for the year. Sometimes around Black Friday you'll see other deals pop up, but specific codes are rare unless you're coming from a partner program.

D Derek Lindqvist 2 months ago
Yeah, I only ever found the annual billing discount. They have a pretty decent free tier though, you can do quite a bit with it before needing to pay.

how does the pricing work for omnisend? is it based on how many emails you send or how many subscribers you have?

C Carly Patel 1 month ago
It's based on your subscriber count, not how many emails you send. So you can send unlimited emails within your plan once you hit a certain tier.
5
S Steve B. 1 month ago
Yep, subscriber count. Just keep an eye on it, because as your list grows, your monthly fee will too. But honestly, it's pretty standard for these platforms.

Thinking about upgrading to a paid plan. Can you cancel Omnisend anytime if it's not working out, or am I locked into a contract?

C Cleo 2 months ago
You can cancel anytime, I think. I haven't done it myself but that's what their FAQs say. No long-term lock-ins if you're on a monthly plan.
1
S Sarah Whitfield 2 months ago
Yeah, totally flexible. If you pay monthly, you can cancel whenever. If you do the annual thing, you're locked for the year to get that discount, but you save money that way.

Hey guys, thinking about switching from Mailchimp to Omnisend. Is it really worth it for an e-commerce store, or am I just buying into the hype?

I Ivy A. 2 months ago
I made the switch last year and honestly, it's way better for e-commerce. The automation stuff for abandoned carts and post-purchase flows is super easy to set up and actually works.

F Faith 2 months ago
Depends on your needs. For just basic newsletters, Mailchimp might be fine, but if you want SMS and more advanced automations specifically for sales, Omnisend crushes it. Plus, their segmentation tools are pretty powerful.

Does Omnisend have good integrations with Shopify? I'm trying to move everything over to one platform that works seamlessly.

S Sarah 2 months ago
Oh yeah, it's built for Shopify. Super tight integration. All your customer data, orders, product info just syncs right over. Makes setting up automations so much easier.

S Steve 2 months ago
It's like they were made for each other. I've had zero issues with my Shopify store and Omnisend. All the customer segments update automatically too, which is a huge time saver.
